Peta O’Flynn

Peta is welcoming, open-minded and respectful. She offers therapy for depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, stress, grief or loss, and life transitions. Peta also provides evidence-based treatment and relapse-prevention therapy for eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, and bipolar disorder, and uses psychological principles to reduce stigma and prejudice. She is an LGBTQI ally and understands the unique needs of rainbow families.

Peta’s main therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy enhanced by Motivational therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills, Mindfulness skills, Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Peta works part-time at our practice in Randwick and at the Peter Beumont eating disorders inpatient and mental health units of the Professor Marie Bashir Centre, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She was awarded a first-class Honours, Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the University of Sydney and completed a Master of Psychology (Clinical) with Excellence at UNSW. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association. Peta previously enjoyed a career in international health and community organisations and welcomes clients from these sectors.

Peta is recognised as a Credentialled Eating Disorders Clinician (CEDC) by the Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZEAD). She will work together with your choice of GP and private dietitian to coordinate treatment for adult clients referred under a Medicare Eating Disorders Plan.
