Dr Stephanie Weston

B. Psych(Hons1), D.ClinPsych, MSc

Stephanie is a Clinical Psychologist who works collaboratively and empathically with clients to help them build an understanding of their difficulties and empower them to develop strategies for change. She has experience and training in a range of therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and attachment-based and behavioural parent-training methods. During her postgraduate training she has worked with adults at the University of Sydney Psychology Clinic, Wesley Hospital, and St George Community Mental Health. She has also worked with children, adolescents and families at the University of Sydney Psychology Clinic, and with the Sutherland Child, Youth and Family Counselling team. Stephanie has worked with clients with a range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, eating and body image difficulties, drug and alcohol problems, obsessive compulsive disorder, emotion regulation difficulties and interpersonal problems. She has a particular interest in the impacts of trauma on the mind, brain, and body, and is developing her experience in this area.
In addition to her private practice role, Stephanie is currently working with the Therapy and Recovery Service branch of the Fairfield Community Mental Health Team. In this role, Stephanie works with clients in hospital and community settings, providing psychological treatment for clients with a range of mental health difficulties and assisting them to achieve goals.
Stephanie has completed a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Master of Science, from the University of Sydney. She has also completed a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney. She is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association.
