Dr. Nisha Sethi is a clinical psychologist who assesses and treats a wide range of mental health issues. Her specialties include the assessment and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, as well as interpersonal conflict, workplace stress, and perfectionism. Nisha also has particular experience in treating psychotic disorders (e.g., schizophrenia), paraphilias (e.g., paedophilia), and personality disorders (e.g., borderline personality disorder).
Nisha is dedicated to providing her clients with the highest standard of mental health care so she therefore takes an evidence-based approach to assessment and treatment. She also adapts her approach to suit her client’s needs. The main treatment she provides is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) however she also does Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Nisha is highly skilled in working with people from diverse backgrounds. Not only does she have experience in assessing and treating people aged 16 and up, but she also has experience in working with people from different cultural backgrounds with different levels of cognitive function.
Nisha’s research interests include examining the impact that social exclusion has on people and trying to find ways to help people cope with the negative effects of being excluded.
Nisha graduated from The University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, with her Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
