Fees & Medicare

The Australian Psychological Society sets guidelines for fees for psychological services. The current recommended fee as of July 2015 for a standard session is $238. Our standard session fee is significantly less than this. Please contact us regarding our fees as they vary depending on a number of factors including the clinical psychologist, the length of the session and whether they are individual or couples sessions.

All payments are due at the end of each session and can be made by cash, cheque, credit card or EFTPOS.

Medicare rebates

Standard 50-minute sessions

You may be eligible for a rebate of up to $124.50 per with Peter Walker, Dr Sophie Li, Dr Nisha Sethi, Alana Scully, Dr Adrian Allen Dr Bronwyn Graham, Dr Oren Griffiths and Dr Sophia Drysdale. To receive this rebate you must be referred by a General Practitioner under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health Care Program (GP Items 2710, 2712, 2715 or 2717), or referred directly from a Psychiatrist or Pediatrician.

Health fund rebates

Our clinical psychologists are registered providers with most major health funds that cover psychological services. Please contact your health fund to determine your exact cover.

Please note that you cannot claim from both Medicare and your health fund for the same consultation session.

Bookings and Cancellation Policy

Please call Reception on (02) 93145376 if you would like to book an appointment.

If you provide your mobile phone number, you will most likely receive a text-message reminder several days prior to the appointment. This is a courtesy and we urge you not to rely on this prompt. There have been occasions where the electronic reminder system goes down and the messages are not sent.

Please note that the practice policy requires at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel your booked appointment. Late cancellations (ie less than 24 hours) will incur a $50 fee. We reserve this time for you for and it is extremely difficult to fill the session with less than 24 hours notice. Further, the practice is busy and usually has a relatively long waiting-list. Missed appointments limit our ability to assist those who are in need of assistance.

Non-attendance without informing the practice will incur the full fee. This is to be paid prior to a follow-up session being booked.

Thank you for your understanding.
